Metal embossing, also known as "repujado" in Spanish or "repousse" in French. Romy is a master of Repujado (metal embossing) and an art instructor in the OLLI Program at UTEP. Her work is in private collections and has been showcased in local, regional, and national shows. A member of Las Artistas and Juntos Art Assoc., she was inducted into the El Paso Commission for Women’s Arts Hall of Fame in 2019 and honored by the McDonald’s Foundation Hispanos Triunfadores in 2022. Romy owns the Romy Hawkins Studio Gallery in San Elizario, TX.
