Prints of Series 2 from the book 'Forty Years at El Paso' by W.W. Mills, inclues prints 'Looking North; A Feeling in the Air; And Rode to Paso del Norte; Battle t Valverde; Taken to a Bosque; Express Rider; Don Benito at Paso del Norte; Still by my Side". Insights from Adair Margo, founder of the Tom Lea Institute: WW Mills, followed his brother Anson Mills to Franklin (El Paso) in 1858 and wrote his memoirs, 40 Years in El Paso, in 1901. The book provided such a complete account of El Paso’s formative years that it was republished in 1962 with illustrations by El Paso’s famed artist, Tom Lea. This portfolio is comprised of every illustration in the book, made from the originals that State National Bank bought from Tom Lea for its executive offices. With the help of Adair Margo Gallery, the bank contracted local designer Jud Burgess to make the portfolio as a gift for its long term El Paso clients.
